These types of brake
caliper paint kits are usually a little less expensive than the epoxy based kits, however they also lack
in quality.
Although this type of kit will be a brush on just like the epoxy based kit it is a single stage paint, it
is ceramic based and not epoxy based so there will be no reactor to add. You simply open the can
and paint. The heat resistance is generally 300 to 400 degrees less than an epoxy based kit and the
finish is a flat matte finish rather than a high gloss.
You can generally get 8 - 12 months out of a ceramic based caliper paint kit before it starts to chip
and fade depending on driving style and conditions, at which point you'll need to touch it up. Honestly
you're better off laying out another $10.00 or so to get the epoxy based brake caliper paint kit... You'll
be glad you did.
